Amie Otto is a photographer capturing people and all the wonderful things they do in life: families, babies, graduates, work. Based in Northern Virginia and working primarily in the DMV. Available for travel.
Amie Otto Photography is a boutique studio dedicated to documenting our clients' lives. Whether it is a wedding, birth, or family photos, we love to help document your personal legacy.
The studio was established in 2003 and we focus solely on photographing people and all the wonderful things they do! Amie Otto has an education in photography which started in high school and continued through programs at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is the lead photographer and creative force behind the company, though we often have assistants to help along the way. Your business and images are very important to us, so we limit our bookings to ensure the highest level of service for all our clients.
Our photos have appeared in numerous publications and blogs, notably the Washington Post, the Washingtonian, Northern Virginia Magazine, the Loudoun Times, and even Alpacas Magazine! We are also regularly on many local best of lists, including Washington Parent's Best Photographer for Families, the Washingtonian Best Vendors, The Knot Best Vendors, and Wedding Wire's Bride's Choice award.
Amie Otto, Owner and Lead Photographer
I go way back with photography--I started at an early age, learning on an old Nikon 35 mm and shooting black and white film then developing it in the darkroom. I fell in love with the process and photography became a fixture in my art education. I have worked in many other fields, but creating images that are part of my clients' personal histories has, by far, been one of the most satisfying. As a former bride and a parent, I know how important my own photos are of these events--my wedding, birth, and family photos are definitely the thing I would be grabbing out of my house in the case of an emergency! I love having the opportunity to create these types of images for others.
When I'm not working, you'll likely find me with my kids, husband, and good friends, probably sharing a cocktail (or two!) on the patio. I love good design, great music, interesting conversation, home cooking, making things, modern quilts and reading. I'd love to hear more about you and your family--head over to our contact page to drop me a line!
